The 9th International conference “The importance of learning professional foreign languages for communication between cultures” that was held in Maribor at the Faculty of Economics and Business was an excellent opportunity to present the results of the Erasmus+ project entitled The acceleration method of development of transversal competences in the students’ practical training process. The conference that took place between September 22 and 23, 2016 attracted more than 60 participants from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine. Two plenary and 43 papers were presented and discussed at the conference. Members of the Slovenian project team from University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business (UM FEB) presented the project results and especially emphasized the importance of the matrix of dependencies between practical teaching methods and an increase in students’ transversal competences for accomplishment of the planned project activities.
