Time for Professionals for Wielkopolska
“Time for Professionals for Wielkopolska” is the third project in the series of projects Time for Professionals, which have been implemented for over 12 years by the Local Government of Wielkopolska Province in partnership with the Poznań University of Technology. Each edition focuses on activities supporting and developing vocational education in the region, hence the aim of the project Time for Professionals for Wielkopolska is to improve the quality of vocational education in Wielkopolska by implementing tasks that provide both wide access to opportunities to improve competences and systemic activities to maintain and expand cooperation between entities that have an impact on vocational education in the region.
The project is aimed at schools providing vocational education in the Wielkopolska Province, their students and teachers.
The project includes a system of interconnected activities, the main ones being: implementation of additional specialist classes in laboratories (for 6 900 students), implementation of internships (for 220 students), implementation of support for students by building self-awareness of their skills in correlation with the competences required on the regional labour market and support enabling teachers to acquire qualifications or competences (for 100 teachers).
The implementation of specialist classes will take place in the laboratories of the Poznań University of Technology, which will be equipped with the equipment necessary to implement education in such areas as green energy or the industry of the future.
In addition, the project assumes the development of the „System Professionals”, which consists of the „Wielkopolska Network of Education and Economy” and the system.zawodowcy.org platform, thanks to which work will be carried out related to defining competence needs on the labor market in cooperation with employers, and maintaining permanent relations will enable ongoing monitoring of changes in the regional labor market and strengthening the communication process and knowledge exchange between employers and institutions related to education.
The project will also provide support for teachers, including in the form of advanced training, industry training or courses aimed at improving skills/competences or acquiring professional qualifications. The tasks planned in the project are consistent with the objectives of the “Wielkopolska Education 2023-2030” strategy.
The effect of the project will primarily be the improvement of competences by students in thematic areas consistent with current technological standards, the improvement of competences or the acquisition of qualifications by teachers of schools providing vocational education, as well as building lasting relations between vocational schools, local governments, universities and enterprises.
The project is being implemented in partnership between the Wielkopolska Province, represented by the Department of Education and Science of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Province and the Poznań University of Technology. Planned project implementation time: from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2029.
The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund Plus and from the state budget and is being implemented under the European Funds for Wielkopolska 2021-2027 Programme.
