Result O5 – The models of processes of developing transversal skills in practical training

8 teams from 4 countries have developed 5 models of cross-section skills development

The partners of project “The Method of Accelerating the Development of Transversal Competencies in the Practical Education of Students”, which has been launched under the Erasmus + Program have developed models for the development of transversal competences in practical education.

The characteristics of these models are available on the project’s website at www.atcerasmus.eu for participating institutions and other partners interested in participating in process testing, both within and outside of project activities, strongly encouraged by our team.

Documentation prepared for this task is designed to prepare for testing processes of transversal competences with the use of practical training methods. Some partners started testing in March. The first document that emerged from “Result 5” is “Developing the Rules for Choosing Practical Training Methods for Process Models”. It allows to indicate how to choose the teaching method to process based on the matrix developed in the framework of the “Matrix (IO3)” in 2016 (the matrix contains a ranking of teaching methods for the rate of increase in transversal competences: entrepreneurship, teamwork, creativity, communicativeness).

The second part of documentation developed with the Partners in the project is “Instruction for preparing and testing models of processes of developing transversal skills as a part of practical training “. This work includes the purpose of document development, information reference documents, sources of guidelines for process testing, characteristics of basic concepts related to process reference models, characteristics of how test models are prepared, testing the pace of changes in competence levels, and characteristics of test methods to examine the rate of change in competencies of developed and tested process models. The document also contains information on the principles of testing process models, the model of description of process models designed by partners, and two questionnaires measuring the increase of transversal competencies.

Based on the documents mentioned above  five process reference models were prepared, which were consulted with the representatives of the West Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Federation of Education – JEDU from Finland and representatives of selected companies operating in cooperation networks within the institutions. In addition, foreign Partners have evaluated the prepared models of reference processes on smaller samples among the cooperating companies.
