The report O1 concerning applied teaching methods of transversal skills and methods of practical trainings

The process of developing The acceleration method of development of transversal competences in the students’ practical training process,  which is part of a project bearing the same title, was taken up by a team of 8 partner institutions representing 4 countries. Between 2015 and 2018 the method will be developed, evaluated and implemented.

The present document is one of the first results of the project. In the first place, the development of the report signifies the verification of the first out of eight stages of the designed method. In the second place, the creation of the report conditions the design and verification of next stages of the method.

The report contains the results of international cooperation and research into the development of transversal competences in the higher education system in a selection of European countries.

The structure of the report has been prepared on the basis of methodological assumptions, which are described in the application form. The report includes four parts.

Part one features categorized terms connected with the research. The development of a coherent dictionary allowed the communication between project partners to be standardized and made it possible to refer to and use sets of terms which were accepted through consultation.

Part two presents the functioning of higher education systems in selected European countries. Readers may acquaint themselves with legal regulations and higher education schemes and structure.

Part three contains an overview of practical teaching methods used in the partner countries. The partners presented in particular subchapters the specific cultural and systemic character of formal, informal and non-formal education in their own countries.

Part four contains the analysis of methods teaching selected transversal competences in higher education in the partner countries. A detailed analysis was performed concerning the process of shaping communicativeness, entrepreneurship, creativity and group cooperation.

The content of the report constitutes an interesting study material not only for those wishing to learn about the development of practical teaching methods in the European education system, but also for teachers wishing to improve their own teaching methods.
