On the 9^th January, 2013 in Poznań School of Social Sciences oxford debate took place organized by the students of the 3^rd year of Journalism and Social Communication. Main question asked to the guests invited was: Who needs journalists and the graduates of social communication? Among guests invited was dr. eng. Maciej Szafrański – Plenipotentiary of Rector of Poznań University of Technology for Accelerator of Technical Knowledge. Taking part in turbulent discussion he pointed out among others the issues connected with more and more important penetration of different competencies: “Within the framework of journalism and social communication more and more specializations will be created and persons with education in these fields will have except traditional competencies to have for their disposal more and more of additional competencies including technical ones.”
